Bud pruning is done to control the growth of bonsai and maintain its beautiful shape.
This is usually done in spring or early summer when growth is active. Cut off new shoots and unnecessary shoots that have grown during the growth process. Pruning will be easier if you use special bonsai twig shears or pruning shears.

Bud pruning is an important method to bring out the beauty of bonsai.
